07-07-07

07-07-07 was the most popular wedding date of the year! I booked a wedding through Stone Ridge Photography. I had so many inquiries for this date but I got the opportunity to spend the day with Ashley and Channon. They were such an awesome couple and Ashley was full of personality!

I had meant for Ashley to turn the other way and look at her ring but things were going SUPER fast, I like the photo either way! It's so dainty and beautiful!

Macro shot of the rings - LOVE her ring - so unique!

My assistant Shane grabbed this amazing shot during the ceremony. Bravo to him - he has been shadowing me at weddings and is really picking up photography!

A cute pic of Ashley! Her mom made her dress - WAY cool!

It was definitely HOT outside, so glad the bride thought of having fans for all her guests.

Uh oh....the cops showed up! There was actually a "hit & run" at the reception! One of the guests backed into another guests car and sped off! The lady had to call the cops to file a report!

Ashley and her dad - walking down the aisle. Love the look in her face and love how proud her father is!

ONDA OK Magazine

So I photographed the centerfold for the July girl for ONDA OK Magazine. The owner, JP, took video of the photoshoot. For the August issue - I'll make sure to wear something a bit cuter - lol!! JP plans on video taping each photoshoot. I think for August I want to get a hot chick on a chopper....

Part of the nerd club!

He he he he.....I'm now in the nerd club. YAY for me! I got my certificate of acheivement from the University of AR. Maintained a GPA of 3.5 and higher and I got the certificate in the mail. I am definitely proud! My friend Duane says that I'm now officially in the nerd club and that is one club I want to be a part of!! So I figured out that I could graduate this spring with a BA if I wanted to but I'm going to continue for another year so I can get that BFA so I can teach art classes if I wanted to. I am still holding onto that Disney World dream, though.....

So Doug and I are trying to figure out where to go on our late honeymoon. We are thinking either Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Disney World or an Alaskan cruise. Decisions!! What to do! Anyone? Suggestions?

So Doug and I are 95% moved into the new place. We stopped looking for houses.....it got to be too hard trying to go to school & shoot weddings. The stress level was too high and we decided that renting for another year would be the easiest thing to do. We are in a condo and we like it. The animals are trying to adjust - they are a bit freaked out by the new place. I'm on the prowl for some new furniture, though. I'd like to get rid of my "past" (furniture) and have new stuff with Doug......so if you hear of any great 4th of July furniture sales - tell me!!!!!

........ I now officially have 7 pairs of eyeglasses. I am obsessed with glasses! I just bought a pair of prescription sunglasses and a pair of metal cat eye glasses with rhinestones in them. They look like the old 50's glasses that are so way cool. I found out that I can wear contacts now but I like my glasses and I'd rather stick with them! .....if you're in the need for new eyewear go and see Doug for glasses. He is a licensed optician and can sell you some awesome eyeglasses!

............more photos coming soon..........of the eyeglasses - lol!

Coooool Wedding!

Talk about multi-tasking!!! I was hired to shoot a wedding but then the bride found out that I was a belly dancer. She asked me to do double duty and hired me to shoot the wedding AND to dance/entertain her guests. I was so thrilled and honored. I was pretty tired after shooting but I found that boost of energy and danced! What a blast!

My Amelia

Aahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I miss my Amelia SO much. She gets to spend quality time with her dad for 2 weeks (summer visitation) and I'm missing her something fierce!!!!!! I just had to post pictures of her because I miss her so much!

Jennifer at Branch Photography

I finally got to meet Jennifer at Branch Photography. She is so way nice and down to earth! Her and her husband Keith do some nice portraiture work. They have a really neat studio in Fayetteville. Their specialty is mainly portraits and they are beautiful portraits for sure!
The one cool thing about being a photographer is getting to meet other photographers. Well....Jennifer asked me to pose for a few photos for her and I think they turned out so fun! Thanks Jennifer for goofing off this past weekend......we gotta do that again! :-)

Kansas City

I went to Kansas City a couple of weekends ago to help Terra celebrate her bachelorette party! Whoo! Lots of fun! We went shopping, we ate, we had our pictures made by Phil Gunderson, we went to Tasso's Greek Restaurant (belly dancers!) and we of course went clubbing. What a hoot! Terra gets married this Sunday and I'm so excited to attend as a guest!!!

Picnic with Amelia & Jericho

Amelia, Jericho and I went to the Fayetteville College of Martial Arts picnic last Sunday. Amelia now takes karate and she LOVES it! Here's a few pics from the picnic....OH and Amelia found those yucky spiders at the park! ewwww!

I shot the cover and inside story for ONDA magazine. These are a few of my favorties and my ad that will be in the magazine. JP is an awesome editor/owner of the magazine. He reminds me of my myself! He does a lot of different things like video production, photography, runs the magazine and does Camp War Eagle in Rogers. I got Amelia signed up for camp this summer. I think she is going to LOVE it!

Art.....school is out!

So I'm pretty much done with school except for my "final" on Tuesday. I'm presenting my dollhouse to class on Tuesday. I built it in my 3D design class. It's really cool. It's made out of plywood, basswood and balsa wood. It was a lot of fun to make. I'll post pictures as soon as I take some.

My instructor asked me to bring my wire sculpture back up to school. It's going to be on display at the U of A all summer. How exciting is that? cool!

So I applied for the Disney World internship for this summer. I'm calling tomorrow for my interview. I'm hoping for a 2 week internship while Amelia is with her dad. My life long dream has been to work for Disney World. 1 step closer to the dream.....

So this week will be nice. No school except for Tuesday. I'm planning on going to the mall & buying some shoes and whatever else piques my fancy! I gotta get Amelia some shorts and tank tops, too!! She's growing so fast and I can hardly keep up with the clothes. I buy them and then she doesn't fit them! So I go in for a glucose test this week to check for hypoglycemia......or the onset of diabetes. Sigh.......not fun!!!! But it's best to find out soon so I can take care of it and not worry with it. I sooooooo don't want to drink that nasty stuff they make you drink but it's worth it for peace of mind.

I just don't know what I'll do with myself this summer! Doug asked me to stay home with Amelia and spend lots of time with her. So I gotta find some really neat things for Amelia and I to do that won't cost tons of money each time we go find stuff to do! I'd like to get her started in some swimming lessons for sure....maybe I can take some water aerobics while I'm at. No more gym for the summer - school's out! :-)

Well my friends.....the drama has finally ended. I thank the dear Lord for it. He is an amazing God as I did some pretty hard core power prayers for the last 2 weeks concerning the car, etc. What a load off of my back.

The truth is the truth.

The House

Well....as some of you know....Doug & I backed out of the house we were going to purchase in Springdale. Nothing was wrong with the house, it was way cute! But the loan company was a pain in my a$$! They were taking too long and they were slow. They kept writing up extensions on the closing date and we were getting too impatient. They had to do some searches on the property and values....it turned to be a big mess so we decided to forget about it. Well apparently that made the realtor REALLY angry! He yelled at Doug and said he wasted time and money on us...uhh....well we were going to continue to look for another house that wasn't a re-po house. Note to self: Don't buy a re-po house! It is a nightmare! So forget that whole deal! DANG! Note to self again: Don't get a realtor. Buy a "for sale by owner" house.
So on Sunday Doug & I are going over to look at a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage house in Pea Ridge. I know - it's far away but our house payment will be nice and it's a nice home. So we'll go from there. This is not through a realtor either!! Hmpf!

Well I signed up for classes for the fall. So far I am signed up for Art History, Graphic Design I, and Photography I (isn't that funny?) but photo I is a requirement for my major. I need to add 1 more class....I'm debating on color studies or astronomy. Both are requirements. Blech! I'm definitely leaning towards a bachelor of fine arts with emphasis on art education.

Fun Sunday

My friend Lucy invited me to go with her boyfriend and his kids to the Turpentine Creek tiger refuge in Eureka Springs. We met up with them at the Mud Street Cafe in downtown Eureka. If you have never eaten there, I highly recommend it! They have the best cheesecake ever!!! After lunch we went to Turpentine Creek. After about 10 minutes one of Lucy's boyfriends kids fell and busted his head so they took him to the doctor for a look. He turned out just fine but he has a rather "pretty" knot on his forehead. If you have never been to Turpentine Creek - it's really neat to see. I highly recommend it and if you go, make sure to read the stories about each tiger. They give tours of the property and natural habitats as well. Keep in mind that the tigers like to spray humans as their way of "joking" around.....I got sprayed as soon as I walked in and 2 ladies on our tour were sprayed. Funniness! What's a trip without some tiger spray? HA!!!

The 3 of us with my nephew Antonio.

Doug is checking out the bear cages.

The tiger "Hercules" - he's the 1st tiger you see when you go to Turpentine Creek Tiger refuge. He decided to greet me with a spray so now I can offically say that I've been sprayed by a tiger. He got my left arm as I was running away. Bad Hercules! HA!
